 I found later that my father had made this box as a present for me, although it is the replica of the work for the good manner. After this work he was almost retiring from the creation activity completely because of the cerebral infarction in 1997 and the symptom of the dementia begins to advance.
"Large Card Box" is the last work of my father in 1993.

 Please enjoy the delicate patterns of the grid that are formed knitted with rattan and bamboo.

His words:

 "It is very difficult to knit the box with bamboo. The cover has to be fitting firmly with the box. Furthermore, it is necessary for the cover to be able to lift up with separating from the box." @
Annotation:
 "Taro Urashima" is the famous nursery tale of Japan.
Urashima who is a poor fisherman is guided to the Kingdom beneath the sea by the turtle whom he helped. He spends 3 years like a dream there. Receiving a casket as a souvenir, he returns home. But, he finds that the situation of the village was changing. There's no one who he knows. This world is the mysterious story that 300 years passed.
